"The Language of Moths" by José Luis Cuerda shown in Spain in 1936. At a time when Spain boils the eve of its civil war. Moncho, a boy of 7 years, afraid to go to school because he heard about that the teachers hited children. Moncho went to school and he adapted because he knew the teacher Don Gregorio and he was fascinated by the character and wisdom of the teacher. Moncho fell in love school and began did the activities proposed by Don Gregory. Don Gregory was admired by community. Don Gregório taught more than theories, he taught his students new positions before the world, where people should be respected, be sensitive and never give up their ideals.
The film showed the teacher-student relationship. Showed the image of the human, patient and understanding teacher. But when Civil War began in Spain, Moncho found out his teacher was persecuted. Don Gregório was persecuted because of his political positions.
“The Language of Moths” is an excellent movie because it makes us believe in life and in education and encourages the practice of reading and pursuit of knowledge as a form of pleasure and not as an obligation.
